Bachelor's degree in Pedagogic and Metodic of Technical Education, Master's Degree in Science in Industrial Engineering
My name is Karmen Jakšić, and I am teacher of mathematics, physics and computer science in both primary and high school in Bol, island of Brač in Croatia. Originally, I am Master of Science in Industrial Engineering, but I prefer to see myself in the classroom. That is why I also had to take degree in pedagogic and methodic of technical education. I enjoy transfer the knowledge to new generations, especially when it comes to mathematics, which is extremely challenging subject to teach since there is a tradition that many students are afraid of mathematics in school. At the moment I teach both in primary and high school, so I have to switch to different educational levels. Being a teacher is a highly responsible job, and every day I am faced with new challenges. As a teacher, in a way, you have to reinvent yourself all over again. It is especially interesting to teach computer science, since it has been literally updated on a daily basis. Practically every day you have to become familiar with new programs. However, being a teacher is the best job in the world – every day you go through process of learning, so you cannot get rusty.
I am looking forward to teach adults, and to share all the knowledge I have gained though my teaching experience.
